Silang Mabele Posted: 18/Feb/2007
     Hi,
Does anyone here know the lyrics in English to Vusi Mahlasela's wonderful "Silang Mabele"? I know it is written in about six languages and I would be happy to send the song to anyone who may know the translation. I think the song is one of the most beautiful I have ever heard. I know "silang mabele" is crushing corn and that there is a piece of the song in English, but beyond that I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I just heard this song for the first time last week. Discovered Vusi only the week before, driving down the NJ Pike, listening to a college radio show - "World In Tune", I think. Guy played a cut from the new album - Guiding Star - that just started shipping - this week?

Yes, "Silang Mabele" is truly a transporting moment... I want the chord charts; I want the lyrics; I think it shouldn't be that hard for a lot of us to learn! God bless the man, his family and beloveds!
